The 8-th European Workshop on Aircraft Design Education (EWADE) was held in Samara State Aerospace University, Samara, Russia. Samara is one of the most beautiful Russian cities located along Volga-river. It also has very advanced aerospace industry including two aircraft-producing plants ("Aviakor", "AviaAgregat"), aircraft engines producing plant ("Motorostroitel") and one space-rockets producing plant ("Progress"). Most of engineers and other workers of the enterprises graduated in Samara State Aerospace University (SSAU).
The EWADE-2007 Workshop was chaired by Professor Valeri A. Komarov who is the head of Aircraft Structures and Designing department of SSAU . It is also necessary to note an attention which was paid to EWADE-2007 from both of pressmen and administration of Samara region. Head of Samara region Konstantin A. Titov addressed with a complimentary speech to EWADE-2007 participants.
As in previous years, EWADE-2007 allowed European lecturers concerned with Aircraft Design to discuss Aircraft Design problems as regards education and research. It consisted of three main parts: · Sessions · Visiting of SSAU laboratories and Samara enterprises · Cultural program
